Gaisby (South African Sandwich)

Ingredients for bread
½ kg plain flour
2 eggs
25 grams yeast
20 grams butter
20 grams sugar
10 grams salt
Sesame seeds as required
Water as required

Ingredients for stuffing
300 grams chicken
2 boiled potatoes
½ cup peas
1 onion
1 tomato
¼ bunch coriander
125 grams yogurt
1 tbsp red chili powder
½ tbsp turmeric powder
Lettuce leaves for garnishing
Salt to taste

Method
For bun, add ½ kg plain flour, 25 grams yeast, 20 grams butter, 20 grams sugar, 10 grams alt and water to requirement and knead to form fine dough. Shape into a bun using your hands and brush with beaten eggs. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and bake in a pre heated oven at 200 c for 6 to 8 minutes.

For stuffing, fry a sliced onion and sauté 300 grams chicken in it. Then add 2 boiled potatoes and ½ cup peas and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Then add ½ tbsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp red chili powder, a tomato and salt to taste. Allow simmering for 4 to 5 minutes. Now add 125 grams yogurt and ¼ bunch fresh coriander and sauté until water dries up. Stuff the prepared bun and garnish with cucumber and tomato before serving.
